Abstract
Industrial robots have become a common norm in today's manufacturing sector that faces challenges such as increased production, higher levels of automation, shorter design upgradation etc. However, within India, there are limited desi companies that assemble industrial robots from imported components, while a few foreign players assemble them as CKD units. Currently there are no indigenous manufacturers of industrial robots as there are no Indian companies focusing of critical technologies like single stage reduction high torque gearbox, multi-axis controller and drive system etc.
The challenge is to develop industrial robots indigenously by developing all critical aggregates indigenously.
